So, you ever wondered how it was like to be
famous. Walk the streets and have fans following you around from block to
block, screaming out your name and wanting a pic with you?
As crazy as it may sound, on the night of July
27th, 2012 in New York City, Brett Cohen did just that. Just your ordinary guy
with a great idea, he took to the streets of Times Square dressed up like a
typical celebrity and was accompanied by an entourage of professional
bodyguards, assistants, and photographers pretending to be paparazzi.
Now his crew created that buzz necessary to
attract the publics’ attention. People passing wouldn’t just walk on, but would
stop to figure out who that guy was that was receiving such attention. Not only
that, but he was followed throughout the streets of New York that evening by up
to 300 people at any one time.
‘Fans’ would stop and have their photograph
taken with Brett, almost immediately uploading them onto their social media,
claiming they have taken a pic with one of their all-time favorite celebs.
Wow, Brett also got NYPD’s finest to pose
for a pic with him.
So when asked where they know Brett from
you got guys saying ‘I heard his music, his first single, but don’t know the
name of it’.
Others would just answer they know Brett
from movies such as ‘Spiderman’. His most modest of followers ‘he’s awesome; I
think he has a great future in the movie business, I just took a picture with
him and I feel special!’
Tell you what; lights…camera…action. I know what
I need to do to get me some of that attention now!
