tell his assistant that she is fired for being ‘irresistibly attractive’? Well
we got some of those people to.
An Iowa dentist acted legally according to the all-male Iowa
Supreme Court in firing his assistant because he and his wife regarded the assistant
as a threat to their marriage.
The court ruled 7-0, that bosses can sack employees they see
as an 'irresistible attraction'. It was backed up that although such firings
may be unfair, but they are not unlawful discrimination under the Iowa Civil
Rights Act because they are motivated by feelings and emotions, not gender.
Now this sets a dangerous precedent; whereby this decision
essentially throws the ball in the opposition’s court and where an attractive woman
has to monitor and control her bosses' sexual desires.
Really???!!!! A guy
can’t control his desires let alone have somebody control it for him.
It’s all good preaching equality and justice, but when it
comes to enforcing it we are totally on a different level.
