Discovering Bucharest

A friend of mine once subscribed the success of every James Bond film to three things: gorgeous locales, gorgeous femme fatales, and great action.  We at Eventhuse modestly, well not modestly…more boldly, describe our company’s mission as providing those exact three things to our customers.  So in our continuing quest to provide you with the coolest places, hottest females, and best activities for stag do’s we’re happy to introduce you to our newest destination: Bucharest!

The capital city of Romania is currently experiencing an influx of EU investment resulting in the rapid development of the city’s infrastructure, including massive and attractive modernization projects and sympathetic restoration of the city’s beautiful historical areas and architecture.  This exciting stage in the city’s 550-year history is producing an incredible atmosphere of excitement and activity in the city and among it’s youthful population.  Ok, lesson over and said more simply: this place is awesome!

Explore the city and discover Bucharest’s baffling mix of architectural styles; from beautiful French palaces to the brutal monstrosities of Romania’s communist-era past to its collection of medieval churches, this is simply a fantastic city to discover on our guided tours.  Eventhuse also offers tours deep into the heart of Transylvania to Dracula’s castle and other trips into the surrounding countryside of Romania.  But if History with a capital ‘H’ isn’t your thing, Eventhuse has so many activities on offer in and around Bucharest you’re sure to find something to do.

There’s no way we can describe them all to you but our personal favorites have got to include our fantastic dinner in a private room followed by a dominatrix striptease show (we’re kinky that way), the casino night with table games, and the VIP treatment at one of Bucharest’s best nightclubs, followed by crashing hard in luxury accommodation at our five-star hotel.  Hey, it’s a tough life testing these things out for you!  And that was just the first night!  The next day was spent at the indoor karting venue, then on to an amazing three-course dinner in downtown Bucharest followed by a guided tour through some of the classiest cocktail bars the city has to offer.  Did we mention our guide was a 22-year old Romanian model?  We didn’t?  007 never had it so good.

So if you’re planning your best mate’s stag and want all the action and excitement such an event deserves let us at Eventhuse take care of the details while you and your stag concentrate on partying hard!

Wizz Air, TAROM, and Blue Air fly direct from Larnaca to Bucharest starting from an incredible €60 return.

Bottoms up

I for one am a person who just likes a good drink when I go out. Once the waiter attends my table, I actually look up and smile and am ready for my first order whilst the rest of the guys with me are either indecisive or don’t want to order themselves.

Your drink could be on the rocks, neat, dry, stiff or a vintage. You name it. You can order anything to your particular needs at the time. Personally once I start the second drink I know I will go a long way into the night and end up no remembering half of it. So to my buddies I’m the second round guy, once I’ve ordered my second drink they know I’m going for it.

On Saturday night I found myself in one of the many retro themed cocktail bars that are cropping up around London. This time it was in the back streets of the City beyond all the noise and drunken stumbling confusion of Shoreditch high street sipping on an Exploded Vodka Martini ™ - which to you and me is Belvedere Vodka, Gancia Bianco & Hydraulic Pressure Hydrosol.

It is on this last ingredient I’d like to focus on, as it is in essence water infused with steam distilled plant material to extract their oil, and destroys the fine vodka and vermouth that it is mixed with to create a taste akin to dishwasher residue. “Beer please bartender!” Too many of those Vodka Martini’s would have definitely had me going on back home, and end up putting on Fred Flinstone outfit, grabbing my club and just hitting passer-by’s whilst I walk myself back central into the city.  Then I would be expecting the bouncers to let me into lounge bar with the rest of my mates, claiming that the outfit is one of the smartest and only clean set of clothes I have on a Saturday night. ‘Come on guys I only want to find my Welma.’ Tssstt!!!

Point made here is to stick to the basics when ordering your cocktail, mix your drinks for effect yes, but don’t try to get too fancy. And if you really knock yourself out, do it on an empty stomach and tell your group beforehand not to let you go off wondering alone…
